PAK’nSAVE supports CanTeen’s Annual Appeal

PAK’nSAVE is proud to be supporting CanTeen’s Annual Appeal which starts Sunday 13th September and runs until Monday 28th September.

This year, PAK’nSAVE has gifted CanTeen a $35,000 donation to kick off the Appeal and selected stores will have bucket collectors posted around the country for their Street Appeal on Friday 18th September.

“PAK’nSAVE is proud to support fundraising for CanTeen. Helping our community is very much in our DNA and where we can we want to encourage our customers to lend a helping hand. Together we hope to make a little go a long way,” he says.

Canteen CEO Bruce Pilbrow says its organisations such as PAK’nSAVE whose funds help them continue to support young Kiwis surviving the biggest challenge of their lives.

“CanTeen receives no government funding and relies solely on support from the community. Generous partners such as PAK’nSAVE allow us to continue to support young people living with cancer. We are fortunate to have such passionate and enthusiastic partners.”

CanTeen is the only New Zealand organisation dedicated to supporting young Kiwis aged 13 to 24 who are impacted by cancer; either as a patient living with the disease or as a sibling coping with a loved one’s cancer challenge.  CanTeen provide peer support networks to help teen and young adults share experiences and gain inspiration from others who are going through the same thing.

This year, CanTeen has teamed up with eight famous Kiwi faces to launch a single, limited edition bandanna. The bandanna features eight words derived from CanTeen members answers when asked, “Despite my cancer journey, because of CanTeen I feel ……”

The campaign is being backed by Dan Carter, Toni Street, Nadia Lim, Fletch and Vaughan, Kerre McIvor, Pio Terei, Mike McRoberts and Miriama Kamo.
